Gesso, Ink Pen on Drawing Paper
It’s fun painting dots. I notice I gave them lots of space,
so they could sort things out.
I drew lines around them. to either
protect them, or emphasize them.
I don’t know which.
I gave them a foundation.
Like a stack of books.
Like the stacks of books I have in
my home.
Some of them, I’ve read 4 or 5
times.
A few I haven’t read yet.
The titles are enough for me,
for now,
Beloved books. Stacks of books.
Like a sculpture.
When I look at my stacks of books,
I know who I am.
