The Meditative Practice
Form and Silence

Artist Kat Noonan’s abstract-minimalist work is a powerful exploration of form, structure, and silence. Her practice, centered on "Quiet Constructions," is directly rooted in her Danish heritage and its deep appreciation for design, simplicity, and function.

Characterized by a predominantly black and white palette and a focus on form and structure, her art is a meditative process defined by silence and focus. This process allows her to bypass conscious thought, accessing intuition to give raw, uncensored expression to the full spectrum of emotion—from grief and loss to profound joy and peace. The form itself is the primary language so she chooses to number her works rather than assign titles.

Evolution and Focus

Though she began her journey with informal drawing classes in Denmark, Kat Noonan is largely a self-taught artist who has continuously refined her unique style into the evocative, restrained language prominent in her work today. An emerging artist, she currently creates from her studio in Alberta, Canada.
